Landscapes of Cornwall

Painted on location in Cornwall, UK, and completed in my studio, this collection of small paintings on paper was inspired by the wonderful colour combination of violets, rusts, sages, cool greys, dark blues, warm greens, aquas, and pops of yellows that I was delighted to find along the Cornish coastline in the Summer of 2024.

I love the way nature is always moving, especially in wild weather places like Cornwall, and I love how alive it makes me feel to be out moving or creating in landscapes like this. And I love how the fluidity of the inks I’ve used in these paintings gives the feeling of movement both in the sensory experience of using the inks and when you look at the completed artwork.
