“I’m absolutely thrilled with my beautiful artwork from Cath. One of her pieces caught my eye on social media and from the moment I made contact she was so helpful and professional.
She offered excellent advice on size and frames and what would work in the spaces I had. I bought 4 pieces from her for our new home and absolutely love them. The quality of canvas and frames is excellent, communication on delivery times was spot on and she even delivered them herself.”

How is my payment handled?
At this time, while I am still setting up my art store, if there are artworks you’d like to buy, email me at cath@cathduncan.com. Let me know which artwork/s, and your shipping address, and I will email you an invoice with the artwork and shipping costs. The invoice will include a link to pay securely online using Stripe. Payments are taken in Euros. You can use the Stripe services to pay with your regular debit or credit card. We do not store any of your debit/credit card details.
Digital books can be purchased using my online store. Payments are taken in Euros and processed using Stripe. After payment you’ll receive a download link by email.
Purchasing with a deposit
If you would like to purchase an original painting over 500 Euros you are welcome to purchase in stages. As the value of my work grows I understand this can be a helpful option. A 50% deposit is payable to hold your painting. The balance can be paid the following month or in 2 monthly payments of 25% each. Please contact me if you are interested in arranging this. The artwork will be shipped to you once payment has been made in full.
This is not a credit scheme, but an arrangement on trust, at no extra cost to you. Usual shipping costs and return policy will apply.
“Buying online is always a bit tricky with art as you never know what it’s really going to be like in person, but I was impressed with the artworks, which closely resembled the online imagery. And everything arrived according to schedule with no damage. So I was happy all round.”

Shipping
Can I collect my artwork from your studio?
Yes,you are welcome to collect your art from my studio in Utrecht. Email me at cath@cathduncan.com and we’ll make a plan.
Is Shipping included?
Shipping costs for artwork are additional. I will email you with a shipping estimate and you’ll be able to pay your shipping invoice securely online using Stripe.
Can you ship internationally?
Yes, I can ship to most countries, although it will take longer to arrive depending on your location. If your location is restricted once you get to the checkout, message me with your details and the piece you would like and I can invoice you manually and give you your shipping options.
Overseas shipments (outside the Netherlands) may be subject to import duties and taxes according to the laws of the destination country. Any additional charges are at the customer’s expense. We have no control over these charges and accept no responsibility for additional charges.
Shipping costs contribute towards packing supplies, labour and transit fees.
Are you still shipping to the USA since the 2025 tariff changes?
(updated Oct 2025) Yes. Shipping of original art to the USA is going okay. Though I cannot guarantee how USA customs will handle your art, the good news is that original artworks are not being charged customs duties, but it's worth noting that delivery times have increased due to more complex import administration processes. As always, I'm happy to get you a shipping quote before you confirm your art order.
How do you package the artworks for safe shipping?
I pack the artworks myself in layers of glassine paper, plastic, bubble wrap, foam and cardboard so that I can ensure that they are protected for their journey. Wherever possible, I use recycled materials for environmental sustainability.
“Your beautiful painting arrived yesterday. Thank you so much for wrapping it so carefully. I love both the painting and the story behind it.”
Can you roll the canvases for cheaper shipping?
Artworks created on wood panels can't be rolled, but in the case of large acrylic paintings on canvas, there is often the option to remove the canvas from the frame and roll it for shipping. This is not worth doing for small canvases, but for large canvases, this usually significantly lowers the costs of shipping. Here's some more info about what t expect if you opt for a rolled canvas. Large artworks on paper can usually also be rolled.
I have placed my order, how soon will I receive my painting?
Original paintings will be packed and shipped within 5 working days. Within the Netherlands, please allow 7 working days in total for delivery.
For international deliveries, I will inform you of the courier options and estimates for your country and provide you with a tracking number for your parcel once it has been shipped. Deliveries from the Netherlands to Canada, USA, and Australia, for example, usually take 5-7 working days. While I will ensure that all import/ export paperwork is correct in order to avoid any customs delays, customs delays are possible. Please ensure that you pay any customs duties immediately in order to avoid customs delays.
If you need delivery by a specific date, please contact me first to make sure it can reach you in time. There may be an extra charge for rush deliveries according to your requirements.
“The artwork arrived very quickly. Just 5 days from door to door. Rolled up and in perfect condition. I loved the tracking and seeing where it was from day to day. Very impressed.”
What about large or high value artworks?
I appreciate this is a high value purchase – and a piece of work I have spent much time on! It’s important for both of us to make sure it is transported safely. Some couriers have limits on dimensions or what they will carry so certain pieces have individual requirements. I’ll be happy to provide you with a shipping estimate, including insurance. You can also consider the option to save on your shipping costs by rolling a large canvas, if that’s possible.
What about GST, VAT or customs duties on international shipping?
When you purchase anything for international shipment, it's an export/ import process, so customs paperwork and procedures need to be followed. If any GST, VAT, or customs duties are applied to your shipment, your country's customs department will notify and bill you directly for this. Sorry, but I'm not able to offer you an estimate of any of these costs (if any apply), as these are outside of my control, and each country has different import policies and thresholds for imported artwork. I will however be sure to complete all of the relevant customs paperwork correctly to avoid any customs delays.
“I was concerned about buying a painting from The Netherlands, because I didn’t know if it would arrive safely. I was worried it may get caught up in customs or something. I was a bit scared that there may be some big unforeseen costs from the shipping or customs. But that was not the case.
I was delighted at how smoothly the process went, from beginning to end. Cath was so organized and went through everything with me really clearly. Everything panned out exactly as she said. No surprises!”
Returns
What if my painting arrives and I don’t like it?
Every care has been taken to show the artwork as accurately as possible with regard to size and colour. The image you see online may show a difference due to slight variation between browsers, devices and screen settings. Any variation between the image represented and the actual artwork is not deemed a fault and slight inconsistencies will not be a valid reason for return.
Having said that, I want you to be fully happy with your new artwork so if an original painting is not as you expect, you have 14 days to contact me by email and request a refund. Once a return has been agreed, you are responsible for packing and arranging return delivery using the same service it was sent to you. Once the piece has been safely returned I will refund your payment within 14 days.
At this time I am unable to offer a refund or return on any product(s) sent outside of the Netherlands.
Do you give a refund on your digital books if I change my mind?
I do not offer refunds on my digital books.
What if my painting arrives damaged?
All work is carefully packed and wrapped. If you receive a work that has been damaged in transit, please contact me within 7 days with a photograph.

“Art is my favourite gift to give. It’s both a gift to the artist and a gift to a friend of something beautiful, original, meaningful and unusual. And I love having art with a story attached, and the life that is woven into each print.”
