Landlines
With this series, I was wanting to practice being bolder about using lines and I wanted to explore how I might create depth using mostly just the layering of lines of different thicknesses, colour, opacity, direction, and created with different drawing tools.
I was also playing with abstraction. Abstraction is a continuum, and there’s a spot on that continuum where it doesn’t look like the thing but it evokes the thing. And when I manage to do that with very simple shapes and lines, I find that quite thrilling!
