3 Quiet wisdoms for the new year from my studio
As the year draws to a close, I’m noticing how much my art practice mirrors life.
Embracing uncertainty and working intuitively has taught me that clarity often arrives late. And that’s okay. I can still take confident, curious, courageous steps forward - even when I have no idea of the final destination I’m moving towards.
Gentle transitions can be just as impactful and beautiful as hard edges and clean cuts. Change doesn’t have to be dramatic or even easily noticeable. And gentle transitions are often made of layers, not singular once-off movements. Returning again and again to layer on new lessons and growth can make for an incredibly rich and present life.
And - as with so many of the best things in life - belonging is something we make, not something found or given to us. And we all have the creativity and courage to make belonging - together.
